Superiority in scrummages and linocuts was the principal factor in the Auckland representative Rugby fifteen’s success over a strong Wellington side in a fast, open match, at Eden Park today by 13 points to 3. The contest was watched by a record crowd for the game in Auckland this season, the attendance being about. 16,000. Auckland has now won< 31 of the annual series between the two provinces, Wellington having registered wins in 27. while two have been drawn. WIN FOR CANTERBURY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 20. Canterbury closed the interprovincial Rugby season at Lancaster Park this afternoon, by beating South Canterbury by 21 points to 7.
