CHRISTMAS PARCELS
FOR TROOPS OVERSEAS NffCESSITY FOR EARLY POSTING. EMPHASISED BY MR WEBB. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Parnels for the Middle East and Great Britain which senders desire to be delivered 'in time for Christmas should be posted not later than the third week in October, the Postmaster-General, Mr Webb, stated today, Under existing conditions, the Post Office Cannot guarantee that parcels will be delivered at any particular date. It is therefore essential that parcels intended for delivery before Christmas should be posted in ample time. This year the volume of Christmas parcels for the troops in the Middle East is expected to be.particularly heavy, and the providing of shipping space will present a problem. Some Christmas parcels for the Middle East last year were delayed in transit, with the result 'that they were not delivered until well into January. Those wishing to avoid a similar disappointment this year would be well advised to post early.
