PRISONERS IN FIJI
RETURN TO NEW ZEALAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. “It has now been agreed that the prisoners in question shall be removed to New Zealand,” said the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, when replying to an urgent question by Mr Wilkinson (Independent, Egmont) in conjunction with Mr Barnard (Democratic Labour, Napier), in the House of Representatives yesterday, about three New Zealand soldiers who were sentenced several months ago to heavy terms of imprisonment in the Suva Gaol. Mr Fraser said that, at the request of the Government, he discussed the matter in London with the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Lord Moyne. The Government was now initiating the necessary action to enable the men to be returned to the Dominion. Certain machinery had to be put in motion, and that would be done.
