PAHIATUA SALE. SHEEP BRING RULING VALUES. The Associated Auctioneers report on the Pahiatua sale as follows: A large entry of dairy stock was offered to a medium attendance of the public. With the exception of a few cows and heifers of quality, sales in this section were slow, a clearance at auction being made at late rates. A few pens of sheep yarded were disposed of at ruling values. Pigs were yarded in large numbers, but vendors in most cases met the market at reduced rates. A large entry of South Island horses came forward, and sales were made at late rates. Quotations: Springing cows (good), £ll ss, £lO 10s, £lO 5s to £9; medium, £8 15s, £8 10s, to £8; others, £7 15s to £6 Ils; cows, calved, £9 5s to £7 15s; spg heifers, £9, £8 10s to £6 15s. Sheep: Ewe hoggets, 275; fat ewes, 3s 6d. Horses: 6-yr. mare £36; 9-yr mare £2O; 9-yr mare £l6 10s. Pigs: Porkers, 38s, 34s to 265; slips, 17s; weaners, 17s, 13s, 12s to 6s 6d.
