MOTHERS’ UNION ST. CUTHBERT’S BRANCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the last meeting of the St. Cuthbert’s branch of the Mothers’ Union, Mrs Simmers, deputy enrolling member, conducted a short service. At the final euchre tournament held under the auspices of the Nireaha Patriotic Committee the prize-winners were: Mrs J. P. Petersen, Mr J. P. Petersen and Mr J. Burr. The winners of the aggregate prizes were Mrs C. H. Mills and Mr F. Hansen. Personal Items. Mrs H. Palmer, who has been the guest of Mrs Thomasen, Atea, has returned to Wellington. County Council Offices, i It is stated on good authority that the Eketahuna County Council has acquired a site in the centre of the town known as Wilson’s Corner, for the purpose of erecting modern offices. Erection of Timber Mill. Mr W. G. Waterreus has commenced erecting a timber mill on a section at Parkville. It had been Mr Waterreus’s intention to erect the mill on his property at Kaiparora, but as there was a danger of sawdust polluting the Eketahuna water supply, the health authorities would not grant Mr Waterreus permission to operate on this site.
