GREYTOWN

DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL MEETING OF COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown District High School Committee was held last evening. There were present Messrs H. G. Carter (chairman), F. Dennes (treasurer), R. O’Neale, W. Grigg, E. J. Galyer, J. Morison, H. C. Trotman, W. Wiggins, Mrs Knell (secretary) and the Headmaster, Mr S. C. Shedden. The Health Department forwarded the regulations for the dental clinic, and the committee expressed satisfaction with the new conditions. Miss D. Tully tendered her resignation as a member of the staff. The secretary was instructed to forward to Miss Tully a letter of congratulation on her new appointment and to thank her for her services to the Greytown School. The headmaster reported as follows: Roll number, primary 300, secondary 39. Mr Irwin, senior inspector, had visited the school last week. Entries for calves and lamb competitions to date showed an increase of 7 over last year. Mr D. Ingley has generously donated a prize of 10s for the best Southdown lamb. The school visitors for the month, Messrs Grigg and Wiggins, reported that conditions at the school were very satisfactory. It was reported that the installation of electric stoves and heaters in the science rooms had been completed.
