“As the fl5 r breeding season is approaching we would be glad of the cooperation of the general public in combating this pest by preventing accumulations of decaying vegetable matter and heaps of lawn grass, or if fowl manure is used for gardening purposes by seeing that it is kept dry ! until it is incorporated with the soil, and by keeping the rubbish bin in a good sanitary condition and covered. The house-fly is by far the most dangerous insect in this Dominion and enlightened co-operation on the pari of the public would reduce the amount of fly breeding very considerably with a consequent saving in money spent on killing the adult fly.’’ This report was presented by the Borough Sanitary Inspector, Mr T. A. Russell, at a meeting of the Masterton Borough Council last night.
