WEDDING

YULE—PATTIE. (“Times-Age” Special.) At St. Andrew’s Church, Blenheim, recently, Peggy Brabazon, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Duncan Pattie was married to Robert James, elder son of Mr and Mrs G. E. Yule, “Netherlands,” South Featherston. The Rev. Whitelaw was the officiating minister, and Mrs H. M. Broadmore presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a magnolia satin gown, cut on classical lines, The bodice was made with a heart-shaped neckline and long sleeves, while the skirt was slightly trained. The long veil of embroidered net was lent by a cousin. The bride carried a sheaf of arum lilies. A string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom’s mother, and a brooch, an heirloom of the family of the bride’s father, were worn. The bridesmaids, Miss Doreen Holdaway (chief) and Miss Ruth Pattie (sister of the bride) were dressed alike in frocks of dusty pink georgette over pink taffeta. Their coronets of pink camelias and pink sweet peas toned with their bouquets, which had touches of blue irises. They wore strings of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. The best man was Corporal C. G. Seecombe, of Woodbourne, and Mr Ross Pattie, brother of the bride, was groomsman. As the bride left the church she was presented with a floral horseshoe by her little cousin, Rusyl Pattie. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s uncle, Mr F. W. H. Pattie, where the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Duncan Pattie. The latter wore a petrel blue suit and hat to tone and carried a bouquet of cyclamen and daphne. They were assisted by Mr and Mrs G. E. Yule. The latter being attired in a blue and floral ensemble with navy hat and carrying a posy of blue and scarlet anemones. When Mr and Mrs R. J. Yule left on a motor tour of the South Island, the bride travelled in a teal blue ensemble with a hat to tone, with brown accessories and a brown fur, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr and Mrs R. J. Yule intend to reside in Featherston.
