ST. LUKE’S CHURCH MEETING OF VESTRY. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of St. Luke’s Church Vestry, Canon Sykes presided, there being also present: Miss Stephens, Messrs W. H. Day, I. Blissett, D. Fairbrother, E. Collier, W. J. Knell, H. Trotman and A. H. York. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr R. O’Neale for the splendid work he had done in repairing the stone fence. The secretary reported that £9 12s 6d had been received for a certain mission fund. Messrs Blissett, Trotman and York were appointed a committee to arrange for the erection of a dividing fence at the rear of the church. TRUST LANDS TRUST MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Greytown Town Lands Trust was held last evening, there being present: Messrs F. Dennes (chairman), W. Grigg, W. H. Day, H. G. Carter, and, A. H. York. An apology for absence was received from Mr H. J. Nightingale. Borough rates amounting to £lOO 3s 3d were passed for payment. The action of the chairman in investing £250 in the war loan was confirmed. Patriotic Entertainment, The entertainment to take place in the Greytown Town Hall on Wednesday next has been organised to raise funds for the local Patriotic Fund. The Pageant of Empire has a cast of 50 and these will be supported by music and song characteristic of the county portrayed. The Drama Club will also take part in the programme. The box plan is now open at Mr Carter’s shop. Cooking Demonstration. The electrical cooking demonstration held yesterday afternoon in the OddFellows’ Hall was largely attended. The demonstration was sponsored by the Grey town Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union, in conjunction with the Wairarapa Power Board. Mrs Allen, of Carterton, and Mrs Dixon, of Masterton, were the demonstrators. The afternoon tea arrangements were in the hands of the Women's Division members.
