KOPUARANGA
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE DELEGATES APPOINTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Kopuaranga Women’s Institute, the president, Mrs C. P. Jarrett, presided over a good attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames C. C. Jackson and S. J. Clarke. Mrs W. J. Cottle and Miss M. Wright were elected delegates to the halfyearly council meeting. Members brought contributions for the Makogai lepers, and a large parcel of goods was made up. Mrs Hansen and Misses Cottle and Doreen were nominated as members and were welcomed to the Institute by the president. The roll call, “How to improve our Institute” was answered by all present. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Cottle and O’Connor. A lecture on soft toymaking proved most interesting. The results of the monthly competitions were as follow: —Best bloom, Mrs Reside 1, Mrs Wright 2, Miss Wright 3. Face cloth, Mrs Jarrett 1, Mrs Wright 2, Miss Wright 3.
