MILLING RIGHTS CASE JUDGMENT FOR DEFENDANT. (“Times-Age” Special.) Judgment was last week delivered by Mr Justice Blair in a case heard in the Supreme Court at Palmerston North on June 3, 4 and 5, in which the plaintiffs, Charles James Jamieson and George Fletcher, of Putara, Eketahuna, sawmillers, claimed from the defendant Francis Herbert Bryant, of Putara, farmer, £876 17s 6d damages for breach of condition or warranty and alternatively £377 3s 7d for fraudulent misrepresentation in connection with the sale of certain timber milling rights. His Honour held that the plaintiffs had failed to prove fraud and that there had been no condition or warranty on the sale and gave judgment for the defendant with costs on the highest scale. At the hearing Mr L. G. H. Sinclair (Palmerston North) appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr J. deV. W. Blathwayt (Martinborough) for the defendant.

GOLF CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY. Members of the Eketahuna Golf Club are reminded that all matches in the first round of the club championships must be played by Saturday, September 13. On Saturday afternoon, a medal round will be played by those who are not engaged in the championship match play, players to select their own partners.
