ENJOYABLE DANCE WINNERS OF RAFFLES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The dance held on Saturday night by the Home Guard and the Women’s War Service Auxiliary was thoroughly enjoyed by the large number of people present. Mr Chas. Buck capably carried out the duties of M.C. Udy’s orchestra supplied the music. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Shirkey and partner. - Raffles were won by Mr Horton and Pte. R. Bunler. A ladies’ committee were responsible for the supper.

MINIATURE RIFLES WIN FOR FEATHERSTON. In a miniature rifles match at Featherstbn, Featherston defeated Greytown by 1431 to 1409. Personal. Mrs Crawford has returned to Hastings from a visit to her sister, Mrs Chas. Buck. Hotel .Changes Hands. The licencee of the Empire Hotel. Mr Ned Perry, has sold the goodwill of his lease to Mr J. Falkner, of Wellington. Day of Prayer. The services in all the churches yesterday were well attended. At the Methodist Church, Mr H. Clark was the preacher in the morning, and Mr Haymon the evening. The Rev. R. S. Keenan was the preacher at the morning and evening services at the Presbyterian Church. At St. John’s Church the Rev. J. R. Higgs was the preacher at the three services held. The choir rendered special hymns and a solo was sung by Miss Hirst.
