SOUTH FEATHERSTON
PATRIOTIC EFFORT EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a fair attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall on Thursday night by the War Service Committee. The prize-winners were: — Ladies: Miss E. Simmonds, 1; Mrs Mclntosh, 2. Men: Mr R. Fuge and Mrs Blandford (equal), 1. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr D. Robertson and Miss L. Weber and Mr Wilson and Miss J. Burt. The music was supplied by Udy’s Orchestra. Mi’ T. Udy played an extra. Mr Mclntosh made an efficient M.C. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee. Personal Items. Miss L. Weber, of Masterton, is staying with Mrs D. Robertson, of South Featherston. Mrs Simpson has returned to Auckland after a holiday spent at South Featherston. Mrs Ford, of Lower Hutt, is staying with her father, Mr B. Fuge, Kaiwaiwai. Mr Lewis, of Otaki, is the guest of Mrs D. W. Burt, South Featherston. Parcels for Soldiers. The War Service Committee met in the. South Featherston Hall recently and packed a number of Christmas parcels which are to be forwarded to local soldiers who are' serving overseas.
