EKETAHUNA
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs F. Schormann (vice-president) presided at the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna Women’s Institute. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs D. Fraser, Mrs E. C. Albrectsen and Miss M. Hooper. Miss Hooper resigned her position as secretary owing to ill-health. The resignation was received with regret. The correspondence was dealt with by Mrs W. Sturgeon (assistant secretary). Members stood in silence foi\ two minutes in sympathy for Mrs Albrectsen in connection with the loss of her brother, and also for the relatives of Mrs Hudson. The roll call, sewing hints, brought forth some very amusing hints. A “musical parcel’’ was won by Mrs Lowes, Senr. Mrs L. Christie gave a talk on London as she knew it in her girlhood, and described her travels to and from business. Competitions resulted as follows: — Bloom, Mrs C. Oliver 1 and 2, Mrs Fraser 3; best six bulbs, Mrs Fraser 1, Mrs Baucke 2, Miss Hooper 3; best apron (not embroidered), Mrs Fraser 1 and 3, Mrs Baucke 2. The hostesses were Mesdames Robertson, Farrow and Sturgeon.
