ENJOYABLE GATHERING

MRS C. H. REARDON AND FAMILY HONOURED. FUNCTION IN MASTERTON LAST NIGHT. An enjoyable time was spent at the residence of Mrs C. A. Pickering, Miriam Street, Masterton, last, night when Mrs C. H. Reardon and family were the guests of honour prior to taking up their residence in Wellington. Sergeant Reardon was transferred to Wellington on promotion from the Mastodon Police Station some time ago. Games, competition and community singing were entered into with much enthusiasm. Competitions were won by Mesdames W. L. Butler and A. Hansen. On behalf of those present, Mrs D. Allen made Mrs Reardon and family presentations. In doing so Mrs Alien expressed the regret of all present that they were leaving Masterton, and their wide circle of friends. Mrs Reardon suitably acknowledged the gifts and the kind remarks accompanying them. Supper was served.
