BRITISH MEDITERRANEAN ATTACKS CONTINUED WITH UNABATED VIGOUR. PLANES & SUBMARINES SCORE FURTHER SUCCESSES. LONDON, September 3. The non-stop offensive by British air forces in the Mediterranean continues. Heavy bombers attacked Tripoli on Monday night. A power station was bombed and a great fire started. Shipping at Benghazi and a landing ground at Gayana were also attacked. The Fleet Air Arm attacked enemy aerodromes in Sicily. An enemy raid was made on the Suez Canal area last night. One person was killed and five were injured. Some slight damage was done to property. British submarines operating in the Mediterranean are pressing home their attacks right into enemy harbours. An enemy convoy was followed and successfully attacked. The convoy was creeping" down the Libyan coast to Benghazi. Two large schooners were sunk. Enemy shipping was also attacked north-west of Sicily and one ship was probably sunk.
