SLIPS ON ROAD HEAVY MORTALITY AMONG LAMBS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The extensive slips on the Palliser Bay Road are being gradually cleared, but the work is being impeded by the continued bad weather. The mortality among lambs in this locality is heavy, and in some cases the death rate is exceptionally high. Green and Gold Ball. The Green and Gold Ball will be held in the Pirinoa Hall on Wednesday next, September 3. Arrangements are well advanced and the committee is sparing no efforts to make this year’s function a most successful one. As the net proceeds will be given to the Provincial Patriotic, Fund, there should be a big attendance. The music will be supplied by Pool’s Blue River Dance Eand, and this alone should'ensure a successful evening. The supper arrangements, which are a feature of these functions, will again be in charge of Mrs Una Thompson.
