FEATHERSTON

LEAGUE OF MOTHERS ANNUAL MEETING LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the League of Mothers was held yesterday afternoon. Mrs Keenan presided in the absence of the president, Mrs Arch Clark. A very inspiring address on America was given by the Rev H. Bloomfield of Greytown. The hostesses were Mesdames McKenna and Lowell. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Arch Clark, Ruane, McKain, Bladen, T. Hardie and Charles. Physical Exercises. There was a very good attendance at the physical exercises class held last night. Those present enjoyed the drill. The physical exercises are conducted on Tuesdays by Mr J. Buck in conjunction with Mr A. White, who has charge of the drill. Euchre Party. There was a fair attendance at the Fire Brigade’s euchre party held on Wednesday. The winners were: Women, Mrs Worsley 1, Mrs Mellish 2; men, Mr McGuinness 1, Miss Ruane 2. Personal Items. Mr C. McKenna, Collingwood, is visiting his mother, Mrs J. McKenna. Miss Ngaire Johns left for Levin yesterday where she will join the Women’s Auxiliary of the Air Force. Home Guard. The Home Guard paraded on Tuesday night, under Mr Hayes. After physical drill had been indulged in a route march was held.
