ORATORY CONTEST HATCH CUP FINAL. WON BY ROSALIE HANLEY. The oratorj- finals for senior girls held yesterday afternoon at the Wairarapa College, Mr H. Mackenzie Douglas being the judge. The speakers were as follow:—lrene Shoosmith (“Haile Sillasse”), Rosalie Hanley (“Father Damien”), Berris Perrin (“Madame Cure”), Thelma Saunders (“Helen Keller”), Heather Douglas (“Mrs Pankhurst”), and Lucy Wilton ("Morrison of China”).

The judge placed Rosalie Hanley first, Irene Shoosmith second, and Heather Douglas third. Rosalie Hanley wins the Hatch Cup.
