Shade temperature: Maximum 55.6, minimum 40.6. terrestrial 31.7. Sunshine, 2 hours. Rain, 22 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 24 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. PHASES OF THE MOON. Last quarter, August 15, 1.40 p.m.; new moon, August 23, 6.34 a.m.; first quarter, August 30, 2.4 a.m. SUN. The sun rose today 7.12 a.m., sets 5.39 p.m.
