Mr John Groves, “Marangai,” was admitted to the Masterton Hospital yesterday with injuries received to one of his feet. It is stated that a hay fork prong passed through his foot. His condition .is satisfactory. Civil Claim. i In the Masterton Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil claim: A. D. Low (assignee in the bankrupt estate of R. J. Fawcett v. J. F. Scott, claim £ll ss, costs £2 14s. A dinner will be given to the members of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Midland Hotel at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
