WEDDING
CARLE—REESE. St. Aidan's Church. Claudelands, Hamilton, was the scene on Saturday afternoon, of a quiet but pretty wedding of interest to Wairarapa and Waikato residents when Dorothy Jean, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs E. H. Reese, Fifth Avenue, Claudelands, was married to William Henry, eldest son of Mrs R. Latham. Master ton, and the late Mr W. H. Carle. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. A. Crossman and Miss Crossman presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a smart Burgundy suit with accessories to match, and carried a grey muff. She was attended by Miss Rita Reese (sister) as bridesmaid, who chose a pearl grey suit and also carried a grey muff. Mr C. J. Carle (Masterton), brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. Officers and girls of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary, of which the bride was a popular member, formed a guard of honour as the bridal party left the church. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, where Mesdames Reese and Latham received immediate relatives. Mrs Reese wore a storm blue frock with hat to match and a shoulder spray to tone. Mrs Latham wore a black and white ensemble, with a shoulder, spray. Many congratulatory telegrams were received from all parts of New Zealand. The bridegroom's present to the bride and bridesmaid was a wristlet watch and pearl necklet, respectively. Mr and Mrs W. H. Carle later left for the north by car amidst showers of confetti. Their future home will be in Masterton.
