WOMEN’S DIVISION
RANGITUMAU BRANCH WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a very good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union, Mrs James presiding. The Country branch of the Red Cross Society will hold a shop day in September.and members are asked to contribute cakes, produce, or goods suitable for a jumble stall. Members are requested to each make an apron which will be judged for a competition, and afterwards handed in for the shop day. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr E. Jenkins for having carried hampers to the A.N.A. Club in Wellington, free of charge. The A.N.A. Club was grateful for a large collection of vegetables sent last month from the Rangitumau branch. Members brought Is surprise packets, the proceeds from which will be spent in wool to be knitted for the Mercantile Marine. The winners of the competition were: — Mittens made from old socks: Mrs Macdonald. 1; Mrs Duckett, 2. One bloom: Mrs McGovern, 1; Mrs Duckett, 2. Three blooms: Mrs McGovern and Mrs Duckett, equal, 1; Miss Harvey, 3. The hostesses were Mrs Stuart and Mrs Duckett.
