AWARD TO AUSTRALIAN I OFFICER. GALLANT LEADERSHIP AT TOBRUK. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) RUGBY. August 8. The award of the D.S.O. to Captain William Forbes, of the Australian military forces, was announced today. It was the result of gallant and determined leadership that Captain Forbes showed when in command of a raid at Tobruk in April, which resulted in the capture of an enemy battery and 368 prisoners. Captain Forbes was in charge of the operations and personally led his men in the final assault.
