GOLF CLUB TEAM TO PLAY ROTOTAWAI. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following team will represent the local club in a match against Rototawai at the weekend:— Mesdames Sutherland, Tikao, Carter, Herangi, McKenzie, Thomas and Tilson, Messrs J. Riwai, M. Herangi, G. Sutherland, B. McMaster, M. McLeod, D. Tikao, S. Thomas, M. and K. Waiwera, J. Carter, S. Hall, N. Hume, H. Carter, H. Matakatea and D. Didsbury. All matches in the first eliminating rounds of the championships must be completed by Saturday. Home Guard Dance. The local Home Guard unit Will hold a long night dance on Wednesday, August 13. The members of the committee who have all the arrangements well forward, are sparing no effort to make the gathering a success. A first class orchestra has been engaged, and it is expected that a large crowd will attend. The supper arrangements are in the capable hands of a ladies’ committee and will be of a high standard. Personal Items. Mr Alex Manihera, who has been in the Papakura Camp since January, has been temporarily discharged. Messrs H. Matakatea and R. Te Whaiti, who have been visiting the Horowhenua district, have returned home.
Mr and Mrs Simeon have returned to their home at Awahuri.
