COURSING
MEETING AT MASTERTON. PHYSICK CUP WINNERS. The Physick Cup for greyhounds, which will be run on Saturday at the Akura Plumpton, Masterton, has in the past attracted many noted dogs from other districts, and this year is no exception to the general rule. Winners over the last few years are as follows: 1928 Mrs W. Hawthorne’s “Brotherhood”; 1931 Mr J. P. Taylor's “Ace of Spades”; 1932 Mr W. L. Jensen’s “Silver Hope”; 1933 Mr W. L. Jensen’s “Silver Hope”; 1934 Mr L. H. Jones’s “Silver Veil”; 1935 Mr J. Hannan’s “Beauty Terms”; 1936 Mr A. Kininmont’s “Welcome News”; 1937 Mr H. H. Webb’s “Lucky Escape” (N.S.); 1938 Mr W. James’s “The Clipper”; 1939 Mr L. H. Jones’s “The Slam”; 1940 Miss J. S. Harley’s “Highland Cub.” The Physick Cup and Watson Rose Bowl, which will be competed for on Saturday, are on display in a window at the premises of Messrs C. Smith, Ltd.
