ST. ANDREW SOCIETY
MR KENT-JOHNSTON APPOINTED
SECRETARY.
INTERCHANGE OF VISITS WITH SAVAGE CLUB.
At a meeting of the Council of the St. Andrew Society, held last evening, Mr J. B. Kfent-Johnston (whose forbears hail from Annandale) was elected seeiStafy to the Society, in place of Mr Nf B. Andrew, who has left Masterton. '
Arrangements were made for the annual vi£it of a party from the Masterton Savage Club, to take place at the society’s monthly gathering on August 30. The Savages will, on that occasion, furnish the concert programme.
A concert party from the society will attend the Savage Club’s rooms on August 23. Mr J. A. Kennedy attended the meeting as representative of the Savage Club.
It was reported that arrangements were well in hand for the society’s gathering tonight, to be conducted by the Saint Andrew Pipe Band. Reference was also made to the fact that .the monthly gathering of the society, which should be held on the first Saturday in September, would instead be held on Saturday, August 30, owing to the Masonic Hall not being available on the regular date.
