MEETING IN MASTERTON.
PHYSICK CUP CONTEST The Physick Cup, which is a stake for open class dogs, is set down to be decided at Masterton next Saturday. Already some of the best dogs in the North Island are entered, and the event'will certainly attract the 16-dog .limit, This (J!up was A rs t contested in 1928 when’ it was won by Brotherhood. Two .years elapsed before the cup event was again contested, and in 1931 Ace of Spades won brilliantly. In unbroken yearly sequence since then' the following dogs have won a leg-in on this cup: Silver Hope, Silver Hope, Silver Veil, Beauty Terms, Welcome News, Lucky Escape, The Clipper, The Slam and Highland Cub. Cn the same afternoon an event for maiden dogs will be decided. This event carries with it the Watson rose bowl, and although not having been long in existence, this stake is considered almost a maiden classic. The limit of 16 dogs will easily be secured.
The draw for both these events will take place in the A. and P. rooms next Thursday 1 night, at 8 o’clock.
