Replying in the House of Commons to a question relating to the presence of German “experts” in Iran, Mr Eden said he had already drawn the serious attention of the Iran Government to the great danger in its own interests, of continuing to permit excessively large numbers of Germans to reside in its country. “I trust.” Mr Eden observed, “that the Iran Government will not fail to heed this warning and will take measures to deal at once with the situation.” He said his Majesty’s Government was working in the closest cooperation with the Soviet Union in this matter.
