OLD GIRLS’ ASSOCIATION
DANCE IN MASONIC HALL,
NINE DEBUTANTES.
The Masonic Hall, Masterton, was artistically decorated with bamboo and wattle and bowls of japonica and cameras for a dance held by the St. Matthew’s Old Girls’ Association on Saturday night, there being a large attendance.
The music was supplied by Mrs V. J. Ashton’s Orchestra.
Nine debutantes were presented to Mrs Cleghorn (who wore a black floral gown) by the president of the Old Girls’ Association, Miss Mary James. The debutantes were as follow, each carrying a bouquet to tone with her dress: —Misses Ruth Hindley, white chiffon over taffeta; Juliet James, ivory needlework lace trimmed with pink net; Fay Chapman (Martinborough), white moire taffeta; Henie Taylor, white silk net, skirt trimmed with white bands and applique flowers; Dorothy Best (Shannon), ivory satin trimmed with gold; Betty Best (Shannon), ivory slipper satin trimmed with silver;. Dawn Wagg, white hailstone •organdie; Helen Wagg. ivory taffeta; Jean Cleary (Waikato), blue ninon over pink. Mrs Cleghorn was presented with a posy.
A savoury supper was served. The dance was organised by a committee headed by Miss D. Todd.
