GOLF . SHIELD COMPETITION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following were, the best cards for the third round of the shield competition: H. McCarty 86, 16, 70; G; Hoby 91, 15, 76; W. Rowles 80, 3, 77; H. Nielson 94, 16, 78. The third round of the eclectic competition will be played next Saturday. The members of the Featherston Golf Club were pleased to welcome home from the Middle East an old member in ’the person of Mr D. Carlyon. United Service. There was a large attendance at the second United Citizen's Wartime Service held in the Anzac Hall- last evening. The preacher was the Rev. D. McNeur, of Masterton. The Rev. J. R. Higgs read the lesson and the Rev. L. A. D. Hayman led the prayers. An anthem “Lead Kindly Light” was rendered by the united choir. Miss E. Collins was the accompanist. Personal Items. Mrs Tutbury is visiting Manakau and is the guest of her sister, Mrs R. Bevan. The Rev. J. Mutter and Mrs Mutter, Cpunake, were the weekend guests of Mrs J. Mutter, Senr. Mr J. Mutter, who has been an inmate of the Greytown Hospital for some weeks, has returned to his home. Home Guard. Members of the Featherston Home Guard held a field day yesterday. Electric Power to.be Cut'Off. The electric power will be cut off in the Featherston borough and the surrounding districts -on Wednesday and Thursday from 12.30 a.m. till 12.45 a.m.
