POWER BOARD MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Tararua Electric Power Board, there were present Messrs P. Davies (chair), A. W. Bissett, T. G. Brechin, S. K. Siddells, L. T. Fouhy, W. Britland, J. B. Carruthers and E. Cheetham. The secretary-manager (Mr W. F. Taylor) reported inter alia as follows: Since May 6 a weekly record of the percentage of electricity at Mangamaire has been kept. With the exception of two weeks when snaps of cold weather prevailed, we have been able to keep within ‘reasonable distance of the 6.5 increase allowed. With the two exceptions referred to, the average increase in the same period (May 6 to July 7) last year was 7.2 per cent. The sales in the trading account totalled £746 0s 2d. The treasurer’s statement showed that electricity sales amounted to £2843 16s Bd, which is an increase on the same month last year of £147 16s lOd. The total revenue for the month was £3782 18s sd, made up as follows: Electricity, £2955 8s 2d, trading £778 Os 6d, rents and sundries £49 9s 9d. It was decided that the sanction of the Minister to the minimum charge of 4s be requested. It was reported that the new rate proposals had been submitted to the Price Tribunal. The sale of electricity for the quarter ended June 30 amounted to £3160, as against £2884 for the same quarter last year.
