PIRINOA

HOME GUARD MANOEUVRES YESTERDAY. ("Times-Age” Special.) The full machinery of the Home Guard organisation was in motion yesterday when manoeuvres were carried out by the Home Guard in the Pirinoa area. Blockades appeared on the road, ambulances were rushing to the clearing stations, first aid detachments were at work attending to casualties and armed forces were met with along the main road just north of Pirinoa township. Cars traversing the area were stopped by traffic inspectors and an escort was necessary to enable the motorist to pass through the scene of operations. Much interest was taken in the manoeuvres by members of the Home Guard and others. The weather was delightfully fine for the occasion.
