WOMEN’S DIVISION NEW MEMBERS ELECTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of the local Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union there was a good attendance. Three new members were elected. The report of the shop day was considered satisfactory, and a vote of thanks was passed to Miss Pain for the free use of her shop. A visit had been made to the Greytown Hospital, and thanks were extended to all who had provided cakes, etc., and also contributed to the musical programme on that occasion. It was reported that a very good response was received to the Lady Galway Appeal. GOLF COMPETITION RESULTS. The best cards handed in after a medal handicap played on Saturday were:—J. Wall, 85, 15, 70; G. de V. W. Blathwayt, 99, 28, 71; C. C. Moore, 83, 12, 71; M. H. Perry. 82, 10. 72; A. I. Charles, 83, 10, 73. Points scored in the Campbell Sievers Memorial Cup: J. Wall, 3; G. Blathwayt, 2; C. C. Moore, 1. The best cards handed in by the lady members of the Martinborough Club on Saturday were:—Mrs Baker, 105, 24, 81; Mrs Charles, 105, 24, 81; Miss Harvey, 101, 14, 87. Personal. At the meeting of the School Committee, Mi’ Roy Lawrence, who has been transferred to Masterton, was the recipient of a handsome bedside alarm clock from his fellow. members. It was stated that Mr Lawrence had done much useful service, especially on the Dental Clinic Committee, of which he was secretary. Mr Sadd, chairman of the committee, made the presentation and expressed regret at Mr Lawrence’s departure. Other members spoke in a similar strain. Mr Lawrence suitably replied. !
