TEN ENEMY FIGHTERS SHOT DOWN DIVE BOMBERS ALSO DESTROYED ON GROUND. SWEEPS OVER NORTHERN FRANCE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1 p.m.) RUGBY, July 11. An Air Ministry communique states: “Heavy R.A.F. bombers, escorted by fighters, carried out two offensive operations over Northern France today (Friday). This morning they attacked a shipyard at Letrait. on the River Seine, and in the afternoon the railway yard at Hazcbrouck was bombed. None cf our bombers is missing. “Our fighters destroyed ten enemy fighters during the day’s offensive and in addition several German dive-bomb-ers were destroyed on the ground. Four of our fighters are missing. “An enemy bomber was destroyed off the north of Scotland this evening.”
