PREPARATIONS FOR GENERAL ELECTION LIST OF CANDIDATES. FORTY-ONE THUS FAR APPROVED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Forty-one candidates to contest seats at the general election have been approved to date by the Dominion executive of the National Party, The list includes 22 sitting members, four of whom are serving overseas. They are Brigadier J. Hargcst (Awarua), Sergeant T. L. Macdonald (Mataura), Major A. N. Grigg (Mid-Canterbury), Captain J. M. Allen (Hauraki). Three sitting members who arc this year retiring from politics arc the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes (Hurunui), Sir Alfred Ransom (Pahiatua), and the Hon. J. G. Cobbe (Oroua).
