CARD TOURNAMENT SOLDIERS’ COMFORTS FUNDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at a recent flag “500” party organised by the Eketahuna Borough Ladies’ Soldiers’ Comforts Committee. The Sunday School room was tastefully decorated with sprigs of holly and other winter foliage. Miss M. Anderson, president, presented the prizes won as follows: — Ladies, Mesdames Turner and Williams; men, Messrs Brown and Wimsett. The games were ably controlled by Mr Christie. A buffet supper was served by members of the committee. Personal Items. Recent visitors to Mrs W. Duffill, Alfredton Road, were her mother, Mrs Chapman, Hokitika, and grandmother, Mrs Bryne (Wellington). Miss Julius, who is the guest of her sister, Mrs E. M. Simmers, has left for Australia.
