SNAPDRAGONS

GROWING HINTS. So beautiful are the modern varieties of antirrhinums and so valuable are they for bedding purposes that they may well be considered indispensable in every garden in the Wairarapa. The raising of these plants from seed docs not necessitate a very high degree of skill. Well drained flower pots or boxes

are filled with a compost of sifted loam and leafmould with a little sand lime added. Scatter the seed thinly over the surface and cover with a light sprinkling of the compost. Germination will be hastened if the receptacles are covered with glass and brown paper. Place the boxes or pots in a frame or greenhouse. If the temperature can be kept at 50 to 55 degrees, growth will be rapid.
