RHODODENDRONS

A SHRUB THAT PLEASES. Some people do not find rhododendrons attractive except while they are in bloom. Their handsome evergreen foliage should give pleasure all the year round, especially in the winter months. The way to make these shrubs grow quickly is to topdress the soil around them with leaves, peat and old manure. In autumn put a topdressing of cow manure around them and rake up all the fallen leaves and heap them at the base of the shrubs. A scattering of peat or- leafmould from the bush given in spring will complete the process. Treated thus the foliage will be a beautiful healthy green and they will flower well.
