Acting Flight Lieutenant Alexander Frame, R.A.F., of Oman, Nelson, has been awarded the D.F.C. The official citation stated that Flight Lieutenant Frame completed a large number of operational missions after the outbreak of war. On one occasion, operating from Britain, he carried out a search for five enemy ships, lasting for 131 hours. After December he performed excellent work in the Mediterranean zone. In operations during the evacuation from Greece Flight Lieutenant Frame operated with great success, and was responsible for the safe evacuation of over 200 personnel by air. He displayed great skill, courage and devotion to duty.
