ARMY STAFF
INSTRUCTORS AND ARMOURERS WANTED. Additional men for the New Zealand temporary staff are required by the Army authorities, to take’up instructional duties, including signalling and as armourers. Men for instructional duty must be 19 or 20 years of age, single, and up to the physical standard required for the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Their engagement is for the duration of the war and twelve months thereafter, or until posted to the Expeditionary Force. Preference will be given to Territorials. Applications will close at the Masterton Defence Office on Monday, July 28, and the men selected are to report at Trentham Camp for duty on August 29. Pay will be at home service rates. Men required as armourers will be accepted up to 45 years of age up to grade two physical standard and with not more than two dependent children. Pay will be at home service rales, with an allowance for dependents. Preference will be. given to men in the Territorials and to those engaged as fitters, gunsmiths, locksmiths, cycle mechanics or allied trades. Selected applicants will require to undergo three months training at Trentham.
