REVENUE LOSS
FACED IN AUSTRALIA BY STATES & FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. AS RESULT OF PETROL RATIONING. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Petrol rationing, according to the State Minister of Transport, is expected to cause a heavy loss in revenue to the States as well as the Federal Government. At least 80,000 owners of motor vehicles in New South Wales have expressed their intention of allowing registrations to lapse until further notice. The Commonwealth will lose £10,000,000 a year in Customs duty.
