MABE BY IMPERIAL TROOPS IN SYRIA RENEWED PATROL ACTIVITY IN LIBYA. NO NEW DEVELOPMENT IN ABYSSINIA. (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, July 9. A communique issued by general headquarters in Cairo states: "In Libya there has been renewed patrol activity in the frontier area. . . I “In Abyssinia there is nothing of importance to report. “In Syria the advance of our columns towards Aleppo and Homs is proceeding satisfactorily. In the central sector further local gains have been made. On the coastal sector, the Australian troops have overrun the.main Vichy positions and are now operating north of the town of Damour."
