RAILWAY FIRE TRAGEDY
DUE TO BOYS PLAYING WITH MATCHES. TWO SONS OF BELGIAN PREMIER AMONG KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, July 7. A. Government inquiry revealed that the deaths of two of M. Pierlot’s sons and four others on April 2 last were due to the boys’ playing with matches, one of which fell behind the seat of the coach and started a fire in an inaccessible position. The two sons of the Belgian Prime Minister were among six boys from Ampleforth College in Yorkshire who were killed when they jumped from a blazing carriage on the London to Newcastle express. Seven other boys were injured. A third son of M. Pierlot was among those taken to hospital. The carriage contained 64 boys. The train was ptlllpd up and the crew attacked the fire. The boys were returning tc school after the Easter holidays.
