FAREWELL GATHERING CROSS CREEK RESIDENTS HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Cross Creek residents gathered together recently to bid farewell to Mian d Mrs D. B. Surrey, who for a number of years had been stationed there. Mr Surrey, who has taken a farm up north, was very popular and an ardent worker in the interests of Cross Creek Numerous complimentary speeches were made and Mr and Mrs Surrey each received handsome gifts donated by the residents. Personal Items. Last Monday night the W.M.. C. J. Nix, and brethren of St. John’s Masonic Lodge took the opportunity to farewell. W.P.M. McLeod. The W.M., on behalf of the lodge, said that for over 25 years Mr McLeod had been a member of the lodge and of the craft for 32 years. A handsome gift was made to him and also a set of pyrex dishes and a cheque for Mrs McLeod. Mrs C. J. Carlyon has received word that her son, Private T. J. (‘'Denny”). Carlyon, is being invalided home. Kaiwaivvai Entertainment. Patrons are reminded of the entertainment in the Kaiwaiwai Hall on Saturday night. There will be good music provided for the dancing and substantial prizes for the euchre tournament.
