FIRST WHO GAVE HIS LIFE FOR BRITAIN. MEMORIAL IN ST. PAUL’S. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 2. The Air Minister, Sir Archibald Sinclair, will unveil a commemorative tablet to the late Pilot Officer W. .M. L. Fiske in the crypt of St. Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, July 4, American Independence Day. The United States Ambassador, Mi' Winant, and all the leading members of the American colony will be present. The Chief of the Air Staff, Sir Charles Portal, .also hopes to be present. Pilot Officer Riske was the first American-born pilot of the R.A.F. to give his life in the services of Britain. He was killed in ’action in August, 1940, during the Battle of Britain.
