CALEDONIAN INGLESIDE
GATHERING IN MASTERTON LAST NIGHT.
The second Ingleside held by the Wairarapa Caledonian Society this season in the Ma'sonic Hall, Masterton was up to the high standard associated with such gatherings. There was a large attendance and the function war a decided success. Music for the dancing was provided by Jack Barnes’s orchestra and appreciated extras were played by Mr Trevor Hicks. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr C. H. McKenzie. Included in the programme were severel Scots dances With traditional ceremonj’ the haggis was piped in and Mr T. Arcus, the society’s patron, pronounced Grace. An’ excellent supper followed, Mrs C. H. McKenzie being in charge of the arrangements.
Those present considered the gathering most enjoyable. The next Ingleside will be held on Wednesday, August 6.
