GOLF CLUB SHIELD & CHALLENGE CUP. The first two rounds for the Balfour Memorial Shield and Challenge Cup will be played on Sunday next with a round of 18 holes in the morning and the second round of 18 holes in the afternoon. B Bull, 9.54 and 1.9; B. Kiernan v F. C. Bunny, 9.57 and 1.12; Ray Ingley v E. Williams, 10 and 1.15; W. W. Tully v G. Brunton. 10.3 and 1.18; F. Dewhirst v S. C. Shedden. 10.6 and 1.21; W. Everett v N. S. McLeod, 10.9 and 1.24: J. A. Brooker v G. Te Whaiti. 10.12 and 1.27; H. G. Carter v G. Burns, 10.15 and 1.30; W. S. Brice v A. G. Rhodes, 10.18 and 1.33: A. G. Peterson v E. C. Dewhirst, 10.21 and 1.36; J. Kiernan v M. Bouzaid, 10.24 and 1.39; C. Burch v A. G. Nisbet, 10.27 and 1.42; P. Pope v R. Eccles, 10.30 and 1.45; W. M. Brown v A. Stuart. 10.33 and 1.48: H. Keltic v A. B. Dunnet, 10.36 and 1.51. Any player unable to compete is asked to notify the secretary immediately. Members who are not conversant with the conditions attached to the winning of these trophies are advised that the Balfour Memorial Shield is for the best four rounds off the stick. The Challenge Cup is played for on handicap and is for the best net score over the four rounds. The final two rounds will be played on Suncl.iv, July 6. .
