GIRL GUIDES
MASTERTON EXECUTIVE. APPEAL FOR WASTE COTTON MATERIAL. At a meeting of the Masterton Girl Guide Executive there were present: Mrs A. W. McKenzie (in the chair), Mesdames Parr, Hodder, Andrews, Gaskin, Prentice, Hunter, McKenzie, Corskie and Traynor and Miss G. Allan and N. Ractliffe. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames H. Major, Ractliffe, Heath and Lawson. A donation of £1 was received from the Presbyterian Bible Class in appreciation of the camp equipment lent by the Guides to the Bible Class for their Easter camp. Arrangements were-made for the annual meeting which will be held on August 4. It was decided that a uniform depot be instituted. Mrs C. H. McKenzie undertook to start this and ex-Guides with uniforms for sale (Headquarters blue only) should get in touch with Mrs McKenzie. Examiners for the Cook and History Rover badges were appointed. Application was made to the Moser Trust Fund by the Weraiti Company for the purchase of two uniforms. The Guides of New Zealand have undertaken to provide all the waste cotton material needed by the N.Z. Air Force. Masterton Guides are making a house to house canvass to provide their quota and householders are asked to co-operate with the girls in their effort.
