INDOOR BASKETBALL
INTERHOUSE CONTESTS FIRST ROUND COMPLETED. STATE KITCHENETTE BEAT VESTA BATTERIES. Before a good attendance of spectators, the first round of the indoor basketball competitions was completed last evening. In the men’s section the game between Vesta Batteries and State Kitchenette resulted in an overwhelming victory for the latter, while Bouzaid's beat Woolworth’s comfortably. Lancers and Woolworth’s met in the ladies' A grade, and a fast and even game was won by Woolworth’s. In the ladies’ B grade, Cody's suffered their second defeat at the hands of McKenzie's who are improving with ■ every game. State Kitchenette B registered their first win by defeating Rangers B. and Bouzaid Sparklets won convincingly from Tatton’s. The results of the various games are: MEN’S SECTION. State Kitchenette 24 (E. Jaspers 2, D. Minifie 6, T. Burns 9, J. Barnes 7) beat Vesta Batteries 13 (R. Riley 10, Dong 2, Yee Jing 1). Bouzaid’s 24 (H. Hayes 6, R. Harrington 9. A. Read 1, S. Faulknor 7, A. Harrington 1) beat Woolworth’s 10 (B. Ryan 4. H. Madsen 6). LADIES’ DIVISION. W.F.C.A. 15 (J. Palmer 4. I. Palmer 10. M. Gadsby 1) beat Garages 0. Woolworth's 8 (J. Harding 2, E. Dixon 6) beat Lancers 5 (J. Gemmell 4, P. Hanley) 1. Banks won by defautl from Nurses. McKenzie's 5 (N. Hargood 4. T. Jones 1) beat Cody’s 3 (R. Eastwood 2, M. Eastwood) 1. State Kitchenette A 15 (N. Davey 4, J. Jones 3, A. Stains 8) beat Cathie’s 9 (E. Harding 2, M. McCormack 6, D. Rickards 1). McDuff’s 5 (M. Hourigan 5) drew with Rovers 5 (L. Bishop 2. N. Needham 1. J. Gleeson 2). Bouzaid Sparklets 14 (P. Dixon 4. O. Richards 2, E. McGovern 8) beat 'ration's 6 (M.’Scott 4, J. MacDonald 2). State Kitchenette B 13 (L. Baxter 2, D. Kenny 1, N. Stewart 6, L.
